the jorbot

i’m partially deaf but well worth it. i wasn’t sure if we’d make it on time but we did. we missed the first 20-30 mins. of the bloody beetroots’s set. they had good flow between their songs with minimal copping-out tactics. then mstrkrft took to the stage and it was… meh? i dunno. i like their stuff, but last night was off. they played a couple of their singles and remixes but the stuff in between were random beats. bounce was awesome though.

then came crookers. everyone knows crookers. it’s a shame they don’t know their songs other than thunderstuck and day n’ night. so it was pretty tame until those two tracks kicked in. and the man steve aoki came on. at this point i was tired as hell. but he brought so much energy to the place that it woke up everyone.  at first, we thought we missed warp because we were late for the beetroots. then they came out with aoki and they played it. drew and i were mighty pleased and could finally leave satisfied.

lessons learned:

1. people should bathe before going to something like this. serisouly.
2. earplugs are a must when you’re there for 5 hours straight
3. i don’t like hipsters
4. merch is overpriced. but you can’t go wrong with stickers.
5. if she smokes, she pokes.
